The Glasshouses and Gardens

The existing glasshouses were erected in 1973 as a replacement for the original conservatory built in 1913 and contain many varieties of tropical plants and succulents.

There is a small water feature and seating areas and this is an ideal location to spend a peaceful time. The glasshouses are open to the public: Monday - Friday 8.00am to 3.45pm and Saturday - Sunday 1.00pm - 3.45pm there is no entry charge.

The colourful formal gardens arebelieved to occupy the site of the kitchen garden and orchard for the laird`s residence, Pittencrieff House, immediately adjacent. The gardens have spectacular views to Dunfermline Abbey and are a peaceful setting for relaxing throughout the year.
